I think that gay/lesbian couples should have the right to get married because it is not a harm to straight peoples health or anything. We are all human and should all have the same rights with who you love and want to marry. Love is love no matter what gender.
The legalization of marijuana is a bad thing for the US because it could lead to the use of more dangerous drugs and it could lead to more crime in cities across the country. The drug also might also lead to poverty because they spend all their time and money in getting and using the drug. Thats why it should stay illegal.

I believe that teens need to have a right to privacy at some points, only in serious situations should there privacy be invaded. It's rude and breaks trust and it can have a negative effect if it's just to nose around for fun in your childs secrets and personal life.

I believe gay marriage is not even a debate anymore, people just feel the need to talk about it still. Our generation of people are so for gays that once all the old people die then gays will be allowed with open arms. People of our generation are so open minded and let people do what they want to do.
Nobody should be able to say that one person can not be with another person, its not even fair for that to be not allowed, and its sad how it has been not legal for so long and so much of history discriminates against gays.
I believe that gay marriage should be allowed and recognized in the United States.  Many people in this country rely on benefits given by their employees.  These benefits are for the employee, their spouse and children.  Personal rights are being discriminated by not allowing gay marriage.  It should be up to the individuals not the courts.  Politics should be left out of this topic.  The United States of America is all about freedom, therefore, gay marriage should be allowed.

I think the death penalty is the wrong way to go about things. Prisons are around for a reason and it is to keep the bad people out of society. The people are still people nonetheless and they deserve to be treated as people. If you take away their rights as human beings then what are they? killing someone is wrong but you shouldn't be killed over it.
I think teens should not because parents are responsible until the child is eighteen. Also The parents provide the devices that require the privacy. The parents have to keep a watch out for what the kids do. Also its down to what the parents do to keep their kids safe

I believe the death penalty has it's faults because it is a human being and it doesn't make us any better than the murderer or rapist by killing them. Also what if it's an innocent person being put on death row and people didn't know until he is already executed? I think the crime unit needs to be fixed and made better for us to start using death penalty because we don't really know if it's going to be wrong or right and why risk someones life at times for a 50/50 opinion?
I think that teenagers need a little bit of privacy and a little bit of freedom in their lives. If a parent is always watching what their child is doing then the child is going to grow up to be a sheltered person who doesn't understand real world problems. But then if a kid has no supervision and can do what ever they want, then it is easy to live your life down the wrong way. Without parents telling you what to do then you could make bad decisions with drugs and things of that nature.
If a parent trusts the kid enough to let them do somethings, but then thinks the child needs to be watched sometime then thats a good thing. But the child needs a little bit of trust in him so he can start to trust him self
The death penalty is a good thing to have in our society because it saves the tax payers money it also has the criminal pay for what they have done. so if they have done the crime they should pay the price. if people dont want the death penalty then they will have to pay a lot so they spend the rest of their lives in jail.

I believe guns aren't the cause of the bad things happening with them, it's the people who misuse them for negative purposes.
Guns are not a bad thing, only if they end up in the hands of insane people. Guns can protect people and make some feel safe. People also collect firearms for fun. others use them for competitions. I don't know why people have problems with guns.
Ken Roberson's video made really good points like how most schools are based an industrial revolution education. how money controls the school system. these are ways that public schools are not good.and how Ken Roberson made good points.

I believe marijuana can have a really positive effect on people who are sick and need pain to subside so they can fight there disease more affectively. I know from personal experience with a family member who uses it for her disease and it helps her get through the day a lot happier and I love to see that it can do more then just get someone high just for the fun of it.
I personally think it would be a great idea to legalize marijuana, I dont see why it is illegal right but thats only an opinion. with all the great medical qualities and how nobody has ever died in the history of the world from marijuana, its almost kind of strange why the laws are so strict with marijuana. I knew someone who got cancer and turned into a pothead and the cancer went away, even though he did chemo i am sure the weed did something positive

I am reading Couldn’t keep it to myself by Wally Lamb

What I liked about what I read is it’s about why the author is writing his book and that it is about the stories of convicts and what happened in there lives that may be the cause of why they are in there in the first place.

I have no negative opinions or questions about what I have read so far.

I read the author's biography of him being a teacher and an incident with a student made him realize he wanted to be involved with children walking among us who are wounded. It then goes to him going to a womens prison and talking to the ladies about writing about anything and it soon goes one for years and he gets personal things about the girls that made them who they are and how they got there.

The book I'm reading is The Maze Runner. The question I have is how did he get into the metal box. What I liked about it is how descriptive the book is. So far its about a boy named Thomas and he finds himself in a metal box he has no idea what happened. Then he finds that the box is moving, after a while of sitting in the box the doors on top are opening. He then sees a lot of boys and thats where I ended.
I'm reading Clan of the Cave Bear, and one of the questions I have is what years in history is this book based in? I like the description of the book, and how vivid I can picture everything going on. I dislike how small the font is and how old this copy of the book is but thats alright. The book is about so far a cave girl who went outside for a drink in a river and an earthquake hit and destroyed her house. So she is traveling through a forest and a lion was playing cat and mouse with her so she ran and hid in a crevice for a couple days and then she tried to find water but passed out. Then the next chapter began and it started as the perspective of the clan of the cave bears
I really liked Ken Robinsons video, he made a lot of very good points in what he said. Like when he was talking about the outdated way of teaching, and the adhd epidemic. Those two points right there really caught my eye. I never realized how much doctors where drugging kids just to make them sit down and shut up. like it seems like teachers, parents and doctors are fed up with bad kids and they just do not want to deal with them, so the adderall will make them easy to deal with. And with the outdated way of teaching it never really crossed my mind how we could change how we teach in school, a lot of things have changed since when they made school, so it seem like schools could change up their teaching styles.
Standardized testing I believe is not the right approach to base a kids intelligence. Everyones brain thinks differently and they learn things in ways these tests don't explore and that many teachers aren't teaching. Many students don't do well on these tests because of the stress it puts on there brain to achieve and most of the stuff on them they have never learned in their lives and it's hard to see their intelligence when we out random things in a packet and expect them to know it all.
Immigration can be a helpful thing to do for people who need it but there should be more of a limit to letting these people in. Americas tax money goes out to these immigrants when they should be going out to the millions of homeless americans struggling for food and shelter first. It creates a bad image for America when they give these out of country people insurance, homes, and financial help when there are people who need it who are american born. I think some people really need immigration because of a bad country they live in but ones who get in trouble with the law and want to be in this country for no real purpose should be deported to have the population go down and have conflict go down as well.
Immigration does not seem like a bad thing at all, it seems like that immigrants do a lot of the work that no normal citizen would do, because thats the only thing immigrants can do without papers. When the articles gave examples of how immigrants with past crimes are being deported back to their "home" which they haven't been to since they where children, that seemed awful and I could not imagine being in their shoes. If they made the immigration laws a little bit more lenient then the cops would not have to follow it as strictly but since its seen as such a bad thing, they try to get rid of all the immigrants in the country.

Standardized tests are not the best way to measure how well a school is doing.

Area in which you live has an effect, schools should spend more time on life skills, and teachers spend too much time on getting kids ready for the standardized tests.
I think Standardized tests have no point other to make more money for the school. also they make students worry about what will happen if they don't do well. I am one of them.

I think that illegal immigrants should not be allowed to stay in the U.S. This is because they cost U.S tax payers a lot of money for their care here. They also take jobs away from Americans who are trying to make it by in the country. Illegal immigrants also take away social services from Americans who need them.

If these illegal immigrants want to come to the U.S then why don't they just come here legally.
